Why not? Spent how long at West Ham, gave his all and club Captain in a trophy winning season, didn't go moody to get his move, was up front he wanted to go and we got a decent wedge for him.
No need to go OTT but respect where its due, if we do as you say im not sure it will make him feel uncomfortable, why? if anything would maybe fire him up.....

The cunt was flirting with Arteta behind our backs in the middle of a relegation battle and had us all on strings about staying etc. Fuck him, I won't boo him or clap him just the icy silence would suffice. Another ex player who has moved on. Hopefully we will have the extra motivation to knock him out of the cup and shove the words about wanting to win everything down his throat for this season at the very least.
I just hope it doesn't become a declan rice love in cringefest.

Serious question. We’ve clapped previous players before right? So why would it be any different with Rice? In particular because he always carried himself professionally and lifted our first major trophy in 4 decades?

Manuel no offence but that comment is from soemone who doesn't go. Of course it seems irrelevant and silly to a person ho watches west ham from afar on TV but to those who go and get into the atmosphere and feeling of the game, these things sadly are relevant. It will annoy me sitting there watching or hearing people clap and say welcome back to a Arsenal badge kisser, like he did with Ireland, after blatantly discussing a move with arteta and his general comments since leaving about being at a proper club now.
